As an investment advisor, trader and innovator veteran for more than 30 years, Dan began his career on the floor of the New York Futures Exchange, as a self-employed 21 year old trader. After working with Bear Stearns & Company, Coopers & Lybrand, Hambrecht & Quist and Northwestern Mutual/Robert W. Baird & Company, he founded his firm, Shaffer Asset Management. He has been recognized by the financial community as a creative, mathematical and systematic researcher for analyzing market trends and the cycle behaviors behind them.
Dan earned the certification of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1989, obtained the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation in 1992 from the American College. In 1986, Dan received his Masters of Science Degree in Accounting from New York University and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Communications from Syracuse University in 1982.
Dan encourages others to follow their dreams regardless of obstacles that may seem to get in the way. He is the father of 3 children, 2 of which have special needs.
